I want to thank you all so much for the overwhelming response we had to our Diaper
Giveaway. We had so many great entries that it was very difficult for me to pick a
winner. Reading your stories made me laugh, cry, and my heart went out to so many of you -
it has been a hard year for so many families. I truly wish I could have helped all of you
start cloth diapering, so I have decided to offer a 15% discount to everyone who submitted
a contest entry. To receive the 15% coupon, go to www.diapervine.com and enter
"giveaway" as your coupon code when you checkout. Click Apply and you will get 15% off
of your entire order until 12/31/10! I know that it's not much for those of you who are
really struggling, but I hope that it will bring your dreams of cloth diapering a little
closer!
In the end, I chose a story that hit very close to home. Our winner, Tracy
Kwiatkowski, is a wife and mother of 3 children. Her struggles are typical of what we all
face, and I hope that you enjoy her story!
Hi, my name is Tracy I have been married for 13 years and have 3 kids:
12yrs, 9 yrs, and 7months. Although we did not plan on having anymore kids after
the first 2 due to the fact that my hubby is now a disabled Iraq vet, we were
surprised to find out that we were expecting our 3rd! I gave birth to a beautiful
healthy girl in December of 2009.
I knew from the start I wanted to cloth her. I didn't with the first 2
because I didn't know any better. So, we purchased 3 pocket cloth diapers to start
because that's all we were able to afford on our fixed income. I was fortunate
enough recently to be able to buy 1 more putting our cloth diaper total at 4. I do A
LOT of cloth diaper laundry so I can keep her in cloth as much as possible,
UNFORTUNATELY we have had to buy disposable diapers for the times when we
dont have any clean diapers available. I would be very GREATFUL to get a "real"
supply of CD so I would NEVER have to buy a disposable again.
We live very modestly and struggle to pay our bills monthly now that my
husband is no longer in the military. The only person who has health insurance is my
hubby thru the VA and we can not afford to pay the high price for private health
insurance, so we pay for everything out of pocket. We are not eligible for state
assistance because apparently my husband makes too much with his VA disability
check and S.S.
But, even with all the daily struggles we encounter, we manage, and I
wouldn't give up my family for anything. I know that if we received this gift we would
be eternally greatful and put every one of them to good use. Thank you for your
consideration.
Tracy will receive 12 Bummis organic cotton prefold diapers, 4 diaper covers,
Thirsties cloth wipes, a Planet Wise Hanging Wet/Dry bag, and 2 FuzziBunz one-size
pocket diapers! I hope that they will help her family and I am so proud that DiaperVine
can help her cloth diapering dreams come true!
